Who we are

GetJusticelink AI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is the data controller for the personal information collected through this platform. Our contact details are available through the support options in the app.

What personal data we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication details needed to create and secure your account.
  • Case information: the facts, dates, documents, and questions you enter to organize your legal matter.
  • Communications: messages you send through the platform, including support requests.
  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and activity logs used for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement.
  • Payment data: transactions, billing amounts, and currency are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. We do not store full payment card details.

How we use your data

  • To provide and maintain your account and the case-organizing service.
  • To match you with attorneys, legal aid, and other resources you request.
  • To process payments, subscriptions, and refunds through Paddle.
  • To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.
  • To improve the product and respond to your support requests.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the basis of performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security and improvement), consent (where you explicitly agree, such as publishing a community story), and legal obligation (where required by law).

Who we share data with

  • Paddle: our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, collects applicable taxes, manages subscriptions, and provides billing support on our behalf.
  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, support, and security vendors who help us operate the platform.
  • Attorneys and legal-aid organizations: only when you explicitly authorize sharing a specific case.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: when necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect our rights.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside your country. Where this involves the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise your rights, contact us through the support options in the app. We will respond within one month where required by law.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures — including encryption, access controls, and role-based permissions — to protect your data. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong password and keep your login credentials safe.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We may use analytics or marketing cookies only with your consent. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
